What are dermal fillers for the cheeks?

The cheeks play an important role in the overall shape and balance of the face. Over time, natural changes to facial fat, bone structure and skin support can cause the mid-face to appear flatter, heavier or more hollow. Some people naturally have less projection through the cheekbones and would simply like a little more definition.

Dermal filler is placed within carefully selected areas of the cheeks and mid-face to restore support or enhance contour. Depending on your anatomy and goals, Kelly may focus on the upper cheekbone, the front of the cheek or a combination of areas.

What can cheek filler help improve?

Cheek filler may be considered if you would like to:

Restore volume that has reduced through the mid-face

Enhance naturally flatter or less prominent cheekbones

Create greater definition through the upper cheek

Improve the balance and proportions of the face

Soften a hollow or tired-looking appearance

Create subtle support through the mid-face

Improve the transition between the cheeks and lower eyelids

Rebalance facial features from the front or side profile

Reduce the appearance of heaviness caused by lost facial support

Achieve a more sculpted appearance without surgery

• A NOTE FORM KELLY

Cheek filler is not about giving everyone high, prominent cheekbones. Where and how the product is placed should depend completely on the individual.

Some clients need volume restored through the mid-face, while others want a little more structure or definition. I’ll assess your whole face first and recommend only the amount and placement I believe will create a balanced, natural-looking result.

ANTI-AGEING

Cheek filler for volume loss and facial ageing

Cheek filler is commonly chosen by clients who have noticed that their face looks flatter, more tired or less supported than it previously did.

As the structure of the mid-face changes, the cheeks can lose some of their natural fullness. This may affect more than the cheeks themselves. Reduced mid-face support can also make the transition beneath the eyes or around the lower face appear more noticeable.

Carefully placed filler can restore some of this support and create a fresher appearance. However, it cannot reproduce the effect of surgically lifting loose skin, and we'll always be honest where filler is unlikely to achieve the change you want.

For clients experiencing volume loss across several areas, a personalised dermal filler package may be more appropriate than treating the cheeks in isolation.

CONTOURING

Cheek filler for definition and contour

You do not need to have experienced age-related volume loss to consider cheek filler.

Some clients naturally have flatter cheekbones, less projection or an imbalance between their cheeks and other facial features. In these cases, filler may be used to create subtle definition and improve facial proportions. We'll assess:

  • The natural width and shape of your face
  • Your existing cheekbone structure
  • The relationship between your cheeks, chin and jawline
  • How the cheek appears from the front and side
  • Whether your face would benefit from volume, projection or definition
  • How much enhancement will remain proportionate to your other features

What happens at your cheek filler appointment?

Your appointment begins with a detailed consultation to assess your cheek structure, facial proportions, existing volume and the areas that may benefit from additional support.

Cheek Filler FAQs

How much is cheek filler in Beaconsfield?

Cheek filler at Sculpt by Kelly Swann costs £200-£300 depending on how much product is required. We charge £200 for 1ml (0.5ml for each cheek), and £300 for 2ml (1ml for each cheek). Most people require 2ml. 1ml will make the tiniest difference. Of you book for one, and it needs to change on the day, that's no problem at all. We'll explain the recommended amount and full price before treatment begins.

What is cheek filler?

Cheek filler is an injectable dermal filler treatment used to restore volume, add support or enhance definition within the cheek and mid-face. Different areas of the cheek can be treated depending on whether the objective is rejuvenation, projection, contour or greater facial balance.

Is cheek filler the same as cheek augmentation?

Yes. Cheek filler, cheek enhancement and non-surgical cheek augmentation are different terms commonly used to describe injectable treatment designed to add volume or definition to the cheeks.

Can cheek filler look natural?

Yes. Natural-looking cheek filler relies on selecting the correct placement and amount for your facial anatomy. Our aim is to improve support and proportion without making your cheeks look obviously filled or changing your natural character.

Will cheek filler make my face look wider?

Not necessarily. The effect depends on where the filler is placed. Product placed too laterally or inappropriately could make some faces appear wider, which is why treatment must be planned around your natural face shape. We'll assess whether the goal should be projection, volume restoration, definition or a combination rather than simply adding fullness across the cheek.

Can cheek filler lift my face?

Restoring lost support within the cheeks may create a subtly fresher or more supported appearance in suitable clients. However, filler cannot reproduce the result of a surgical facelift or remove significant loose skin. We'll explain what can realistically be achieved based on your anatomy.

Can cheek filler help nasolabial folds?

Supporting the mid-face can sometimes soften the appearance of the lines running from the nose towards the mouth, particularly where reduced cheek volume is contributing to them. It may not remove these lines completely, and direct treatment of the fold is not always the most appropriate first step.

Can cheek filler improve under-eye hollows?

In some clients, restoring upper-cheek support can improve the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek. However, cheek filler and tear trough filler are different treatments. We will assess whether cheek support, direct under-eye treatment or another option is most appropriate. Some clients end up having both cheek filler and under-eye filler together to reach their desired result.

How much cheek filler do I need?

There is no standard amount that is suitable for everyone. The amount will depend on your existing cheek structure, the level of volume loss, the desired result and whether other facial areas are being considered. We'lll recommend only the amount we believes is necessary to create a balanced outcome.

How many cheek filler sessions will I need?

Most clients require one initial treatment session. The cheeks will then be allowed to settle before the result is assessed. Occasionally, an additional treatment may be recommended if further support or refinement would be beneficial.

Results may last approximately 9–18 months, although this varies according to the product used, treatment depth, amount placed, your metabolism and how your body responds.

Will I see the result immediately?

You will normally see a difference immediately after cheek filler. However, swelling can make the cheeks temporarily appear fuller or less even than the final result. The treatment should be given time to settle before deciding whether any further product is needed.

Is there downtime after cheek filler?

Most people can return to their usual routine relatively quickly. However, temporary swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising may occur. It is sensible to avoid booking treatment immediately before an important event in case you experience visible swelling or bruising.
